Barter is a system of exchange. Persons trade goods or services of value with other people who want the goods or serices they offer and have something to offer in return.
One of the places that sometimes sees barter as a method of commerce is the farmer's market.
If you have a skill or good that a farmer wants, you may find it possible to get your groceries without using cash.
